Sales Development Representative

Position Overview:

Six Red Marbles is seeking a motivated and mission-aligned Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our B2B sales efforts, targeting decision-makers within higher education institutions, K-12 publishers, and organizations and playing a key part in expanding our reach and impact. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone passionate about sales and education to contribute to a vital industry.

As our SDR, you will collaborate closely with our sales and marketing teams to execute outbound campaigns, qualify leads, and generate new business. You’ll be the first voice many prospective partners hear from, so you’ll play a key role in shaping the growth of SRM’s presence in the ed tech market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sales and marketing to identify, research, and engage prospective colleges, universities, and K-12 partners to drive top-of-funnel lead generation.
  • Conduct high-volume prospecting through outbound calls, emails, and social media to qualify leads and set up meetings for the sales team.
  • Present and articulate the value of our educational content services to decision-makers in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies for lead generation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sales activities in Salesforce.
  • Stay informed about the latest higher education trends and leverage this knowledge in sales conversations.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team targets and KPIs related to lead generation and qualification.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for sales and a strong interest in education.
  • Direct experience working at a college or university, or strong knowledge of higher education systems, workflows, and decision-making dynamics.
  • Experience working in educational publishing or ed tech.
  • Experience using AI tools and automation platforms to increase outreach efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to engage and persuade.
  • Comfortable with extensive phone and email interaction: you’ll spend approximately 80% of the workday on video conference/phone.
  • Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong probing and listening abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of leads effectively.
  • Resilience and persistence in the face of challenges and rejections.
  • Highly goal-oriented, motivated by task performance and metrics.
  • Background in sales, marketing, or account support, particularly in the education sector.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
